Caleb combines advanced technology with on-the-ground efforts to protect at-risk bird species. Through Boulder Imaging’s Identiflight project, he uses AI to prevent bird collisions with wind turbines, automatically pausing turbines when birds are near. This groundbreaking technology, now deployed on five continents, has significantly reduced avian fatalities.

 While working as the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ MI Birds outreach program coordinator, he united birding and hunting communities in a shared mission to protect Michigan’s public lands. Today, Caleb’s work stands as a model for innovative, cooperative approaches to wildlife conservation.
